World’s First ISO 15118-20 Certified V2X Adapter
WETOX announced that its D2 charging adapter has officially received the ISO 15118-20 certification report from SGS, making it the world’s first vehicle-to-everything (V2X) product to achieve this standard. The certification confirms that the D2 complies with the latest international electric vehicle charging communication protocols, enabling electric vehicles without native vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality to be converted into mobile power sources through a single device. This supports applications such as home backup power, outdoor activities, and emergency power needs.
The D2 adapter is now available in North American and European markets, supporting Tesla Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, and Ford Mustang Mach-E vehicles. The product is offered in NACS, CCS1, and CCS2 variants, covering the primary global charging standards. WETOX stated that it will expand compatibility to additional vehicle models through quarterly over-the-air (OTA) software updates, allowing existing users to gain support for new models without hardware replacement.
Efficiency and Safety Performance Lead the Industry
A 13-hour continuous stress test video released by WETOX on YouTube demonstrates that the D2 adapter, under a maximum load of 3,600W, depleted a Tesla vehicle’s battery from 93% to 19% without overheating or efficiency degradation. WETOX claims that the D2 is 40% more efficient than other V2L adapters on the market and avoids triggering Tesla’s battery heating mechanism, eliminating unnecessary power loss.
In terms of safety, the D2 adapter’s main unit has achieved an IPX5 waterproof rating, while the extension power strip meets the IPX6 standard. The full-chain waterproof design ensures safe operation even in heavy rain. WETOX has also introduced a global product insurance plan covering accidental damage to the adapter, vehicle, users, and connected appliances, and pledges to assume the risk of voiding original manufacturer warranties due to D2 usage.
