U-POWER Launches Taiwan’s First 480kW Ultra-Fast Charging Station Combined with Lexus-Toyota Flagship Showroom in New Taipei

New Taipei City, Taiwan – U-POWER 旭電馳科研 has officially launched its newest ultra-fast electric vehicle (EV) charging station in New Taipei City’s Sanchong District, introducing Taiwan’s first 480kW charging hub integrated with a Lexus and Toyota flagship showroom. The station, located at No. 83, Section 4, Sanhe Road, Sanchong District, began operations on May 26, 2025, as part of U-POWER’s strategy to enhance charging infrastructure in urban transportation hubs.

The Sanchong Sanhe Station is the result of a collaboration between U-POWER and 國都汽車, a local automotive distributor. The facility combines U-POWER’s ultra-fast charging technology with 國都汽車’s Lexus and Toyota flagship showroom, creating a new model for EV charging stations in Taiwan. The station is open to all EV models compatible with CCS1 and CCS2 charging standards, ensuring broad accessibility for drivers across brands.

Advanced Charging Technology and Infrastructure

The station features six charging bays, evenly divided between CCS1 and CCS2 standards, each equipped with 500A liquid-cooled charging guns. The 480kW ultra-high-power chargers are designed to deliver rapid charging speeds, significantly reducing the time required for EV owners to recharge their vehicles. U-POWER has also implemented a dynamic energy allocation system, which adjusts power distribution based on the battery status of connected vehicles. This system allows multiple vehicles to charge simultaneously at their maximum factory-rated power levels under optimal conditions.

For example, the system can support three vehicles—such as the Toyota bZ4X or Lexus RZ 450e—charging at their full 150kW capacity when their batteries are at lower levels. As charging progresses and battery levels rise, the system redistributes available power to maintain efficiency. U-POWER has stated that this technology is intended to minimize wait times and improve the overall charging experience, particularly in high-demand urban areas.

Each charging bay is equipped with a 21.5-inch touchscreen interface, providing users with an intuitive and user-friendly operation experience. The Sanchong Sanhe Station is the fourth location in U-POWER’s network to feature 480kW charging equipment, following stations in Taipei’s Neihu District, New Taipei’s Danshui New Town, and New Taipei’s Linkou District. U-POWER has indicated plans to continue expanding its network of ultra-fast charging stations, with a goal of reaching nearly 50 stations across Taiwan.

Strategic Location to Serve Greater Taipei Area

The Sanchong Sanhe Station is strategically located near key transportation routes, including a one-minute drive from the National Highway 1 Sanchong interchange. This proximity makes the station easily accessible for drivers traveling between New Taipei City and Taipei City, as well as those using major bridges such as the Taipei Bridge and Chongyang Bridge. The station is positioned to serve residents in Sanchong, Luzhou, Taipei’s Datong District, and Shilin District, addressing the growing demand for EV charging in densely populated urban areas where home charging solutions are often limited.

U-POWER has identified the Sanchong Sanhe Station as a critical node in its charging network, aimed at alleviating congestion at existing charging sites in the Greater Taipei area. The company has emphasized the importance of strategic site selection in ensuring that EV owners have convenient access to high-speed charging options, particularly in areas with high traffic volumes and limited space for standalone charging infrastructure.

Innovative Partnership Model for EV Charging

The collaboration between U-POWER and 國都汽車 represents a new approach to EV charging station development in Taiwan. By integrating charging infrastructure with a high-traffic automotive showroom, the partners aim to maximize the utility of available space while enhancing the visibility and accessibility of charging services. This model is particularly relevant in urban centers, where land availability and zoning regulations can pose challenges to the development of standalone charging hubs.

The Sanchong Sanhe Station is expected to serve as a blueprint for future collaborations between charging infrastructure providers and automotive dealerships. U-POWER has stated that this model not only improves service capacity but also provides an opportunity to educate consumers about EV technology and charging solutions. The station’s integration with the Lexus and Toyota showroom allows visitors to explore the latest EV models while experiencing the convenience of ultra-fast charging firsthand.

As U-POWER continues to expand its network, the company has reiterated its commitment to advancing Taiwan’s EV charging infrastructure. The deployment of 480kW charging equipment is part of a broader effort to establish a new standard for high-efficiency charging across the island. While the Sanchong Sanhe Station represents a significant milestone, U-POWER has acknowledged that the success of its dynamic power allocation system will depend on real-world usage patterns and environmental conditions.
