Integrating Existing V2X Technologies to Establish a Unified Global Service Platform

On July 24, 2026, Hyundai Motor Group announced the launch of its global Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) energy service brand, AllDayEnergy, consolidating its existing V1G smart charging, Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G), and Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) technologies into a single platform. This initiative aims to provide users worldwide with a consistent and reliable energy management experience while reinforcing Hyundai Motor Group’s market position in the smart energy sector. The group plans to introduce V1G smart charging services in the UK via the Kia App in the second quarter of 2026, followed by a gradual expansion of V2G and V2H functionalities to other markets.

Woong Tae Hwang, Vice President and Head of the EV Energy Strategy Group at Hyundai Motor Group, stated that the launch of AllDayEnergy will help users optimize energy efficiency, reduce electricity costs, and contribute to the sustainability of the power grid. He further explained that V2X technology transforms electric vehicles from mere transportation tools into mobile energy storage systems, allowing users to charge their vehicles when electricity prices are low and feed power back to their homes or the grid when needed. Users can also participate in energy management programs offered by utility companies. Hwang emphasized that AllDayEnergy will establish Hyundai Motor Group’s identity as a smart energy service provider and deliver more flexible energy solutions to users.

The group noted that the name AllDayEnergy was inspired by the vision of seamlessly integrating smart energy management into users' daily lives. By consolidating various V2X technologies, users will be able to manage charging costs more effectively, support household energy needs during peak usage, and participate in utility energy programs to further enhance energy efficiency. However, the group has not yet released specific data on cost savings or quantified benefits for grid sustainability.

UK as the First Market with Clear Expansion Plans for Europe, the U.S., and Korea

Hyundai Motor Group has designated the UK as the launch market for AllDayEnergy, with services set to go live in the second quarter of 2026. The group plans to expand the service to Europe, the U.S., and Korea in the second half of 2026 but has not yet disclosed detailed timelines for each region. Hwang stated that AllDayEnergy will offer customized services tailored to the needs of different markets, ensuring a consistent user experience globally.

The group emphasized that the launch of AllDayEnergy represents not just a technological integration but a critical step in Hyundai Motor Group’s energy transition. As the electric vehicle market continues to grow rapidly, V2X technology will serve as a vital bridge connecting vehicles, homes, and the grid, providing users with smarter and more sustainable energy solutions. The group plans to offer AllDayEnergy services through the dedicated vehicle apps of Hyundai Motor and Kia, further expanding the service’s coverage.

Rich Application Cases of V2X Technology with Deployments Across Multiple Countries

Hyundai Motor Group has accumulated extensive real-world applications of V2X technology. In Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, Korea, the group is conducting V2G technology trials to explore bidirectional energy flow between electric vehicles and the grid. In the U.S., the group has deployed V2H services to provide emergency backup power to households during major wildfires. In the Netherlands, the group has introduced V2G and smart charging services, allowing users to optimize charging times based on dynamic electricity prices to minimize costs.

Hwang noted that the launch of AllDayEnergy will further solidify Hyundai Motor Group’s leadership in the smart energy sector. The group plans to collaborate with utility companies and regulatory authorities worldwide to promote the adoption of V2X technology and expand its services to more markets. However, the group has not yet disclosed details on vehicle models compatible with AllDayEnergy, specific expansion timelines for each market, or a list of utility company partners, with plans to provide further updates in subsequent announcements.

Hyundai Motor Group stated that the launch of AllDayEnergy marks a significant milestone in its energy transition. Through V2X technology, electric vehicles will no longer be just transportation tools but also energy management partners for homes and the grid, offering users more efficient and sustainable energy solutions. As the service gradually rolls out across global markets, the group will continue to optimize its technological applications to meet the needs of different regions.
