Ferrari to Auction First Production Luce EV at Monterey with Estimated Price Exceeding $1.1 Million

Ferrari will auction the first production example of its first all-electric hypercar, the Luce (Chassis 0), during Monterey Car Week, scheduled from August 1 to 7, 2026. The auction, hosted by RM Sotheby's, will see all proceeds donated to The Ferrari Foundation to support educational and cultural initiatives. The auction house estimates that this bespoke limited-edition model, featuring Ferrari's top-tier customization, could fetch up to $1.1 million (approximately NT$35 million), nearly 70% higher than the Luce's base price of $640,000 (approximately NT$20 million).

Ferrari stated that Chassis 0 is not only the first production unit of the brand's inaugural all-electric model but also a masterpiece created in collaboration with the Ferrari Tailor Made program and the Ferrari Design Studio. The vehicle is designed around the theme of "light," with its body finished in a special "Madreperla Semi-Gloss" pearlescent paint that shifts in appearance with changing light. Additionally, the car is equipped with dedicated wheels, bespoke brake calipers, and a Ferrari emblem set against an optical white background, further enhancing its exclusivity.

Inside, Chassis 0 features the Tailor Made program's exclusive "Le Mans" metallic leather, paired with "Grigio Corvara" gray accents, creating an understated yet luxurious ambiance. Ferrari emphasized that the car's interior also includes a dedicated plaque, ensuring its irreplaceable value as a collectible. RM Sotheby's described this auction as a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for collectors," expected to attract hypercar enthusiasts from around the globe.

Ferrari plans to position the Luce as a cornerstone of its future lineup, setting a target for the model to account for 20% of its annual sales. While the Luce's base price is already $640,000, Chassis 0, as the first production unit with official Ferrari customization, is poised to become a highlight of the auction market.
