Taiwan’s Largest Solar Asset Transaction Doubles Power Generation
Cloud Leopard Energy announced on August 3 the completion of Taiwan’s largest solar asset transaction this year, acquiring 42 operational solar farms from BlackRock’s Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) in Taiwan, with a total installed capacity of 187MW. Following this acquisition, Cloud Leopard Energy’s annual power generation will increase from approximately 250 million kWh to 520 million kWh, more than doubling its output, and is estimated to supply the annual electricity needs of around 80,000 households.
Cloud Leopard Energy General Manager Zhao Shumin stated that these solar farms, located in central and southern Taiwan, are expected to generate about 270 million kWh of electricity annually and will continue to provide stable green power for over 15 years. The acquisition not only expands the group’s renewable energy asset scale but will also bring long-term stable revenue through engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) and operations and maintenance (O&M) services. The newly added green power will be fully integrated into the power supply system of its subsidiary, Tianneng Green Energy, further enhancing green power supply capacity and market competitiveness.
Targeting AI Data Center Demand with Integrated Energy Solutions
As AI and high-performance computing technologies rapidly advance, enterprises’ demand for stable, low-carbon, and flexible power continues to rise. Cloud Leopard Energy Deputy General Manager Tan Yuxuan noted that the group will integrate solar power, energy storage systems, solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC), and energy management technologies to provide customized energy solutions tailored to different enterprise power usage scenarios. The company is particularly focusing on the AI data center market, promoting its “AIDC × Distributed Energy Generation × Sustainable Circularity” strategy.
Tan Yuxuan stated that this acquisition will strengthen Cloud Leopard Energy’s leading position in Taiwan’s renewable energy market while laying the foundation for its expansion into Asia’s low-carbon energy sector. The group aims to become a leading brand in Asia’s low-carbon energy industry and will continue to develop low-carbon energy infrastructure that meets the demands of the AI era, addressing the urgent need for stable green power in high-tech industries.
Revenue from the EPC projects related to the acquisition will be recognized over the next two years based on project progress, with an estimated contribution of double-digit percentages to the group’s annual revenue. The O&M and asset management services for the 42 solar farms will also continue to bolster the group’s revenue, further improving overall operational efficiency and income stability. Cloud Leopard Energy emphasized that it will continue to enhance its competitive edge in the global energy transition through asset expansion and technological innovation.
