Upgraded Charge Pro Expands Charging Compatibility and Performance
On July 23, Schneider Electric announced a significant upgrade to its Charge Pro Level 2 commercial EV charger, adding support for both the North American Charging Standard (NACS) and J1772 charging protocols. This makes it one of the few commercial chargers compatible with both major standards. The upgraded Charge Pro now delivers a maximum output of 80 amperes, catering to diverse commercial applications, including multi-unit dwellings, workplaces, public charging stations, and fleet operations.
Schneider Electric stated that the upgrade aims to meet commercial customers' demand for simple deployment and highly reliable charging solutions. In addition to dual-standard support, Charge Pro integrates the EV Connect Software+ cloud-based management platform, enabling site operators to remotely monitor charging status, manage user access, and generate revenue through billing mechanisms. The software service is provided free for the first year and includes proactive monitoring and driver support features.
On the hardware front, Charge Pro can integrate with Schneider Electric’s panelboards, switchgear, and circuit protection solutions, streamlining the deployment of commercial charging stations. Shawn Bonacorsi, Head of Electrification Solutions for Schneider Electric’s North America Operations, emphasized that Charge Pro is designed and backed by Schneider Electric, offering a "single integrated solution" that ensures reliable performance across multiple sites. He noted that commercial customers increasingly seek charging equipment that is "simple to deploy and dependable at scale," a need Charge Pro is specifically designed to address.
Five-Year Warranty and Professional Installation Services Enhance Commercial Competitiveness
The upgraded Charge Pro comes with a five-year hardware warranty, reducing long-term maintenance costs for operators and aligning with commercial customers' expectations for durable equipment. Additionally, Schneider Electric collaborates with certified partners such as Qmerit to provide professional installation services, further simplifying the deployment process for customers.
