North America’s Largest Travel Center Network Continues Expanding EV Charging Infrastructure
Pilot Company announced in July 2026 that the number of fast-charging stations for electric vehicles at its Pilot and Flying J travel centers has reached 301, spanning locations across the United States and offering nearly 1,300 individual charging stalls. According to data from the EV charging platform Paren, this expansion solidifies Pilot’s position as one of the largest travel center charging networks in North America. In the first half of 2026, Pilot Company added 50 new charging sites across 25 states while also upgrading 18 existing locations in 13 U.S. states and Canadian provinces, further enhancing charging services along major interstate corridors.

These centers provide well-lit parking bays, free Wi-Fi, on-site restaurants, and grocery options. As of July 2026, the number of charging stations has grown by nearly 50% compared to over 200 locations recorded in September of the previous year, demonstrating the company’s accelerated push to expand its EV charging network. This expansion not only increases the number of charging sites but also improves convenience for long-distance travel, meeting the growing demands of electric vehicle drivers.
350 kW Fast Chargers Support Simultaneous Charging for Multiple Vehicles and Plug-and-Charge Functionality
The newly added and upgraded charging stations are equipped with 350-kilowatt fast chargers provided by EVgo, each featuring two charging cables. When only one vehicle is charging, it can access the full 350 kW output; if both cables are in use, the power is split, delivering approximately 175 kW to each vehicle. This design enhances charging efficiency and reduces wait times for drivers. Additionally, Pilot’s charging stations support Plug-and-Charge functionality, allowing compatible vehicles to automatically initiate charging upon plugging in, provided a payment method has been pre-set, streamlining the charging process.
