Pilot Travel Centers Surpass 300 EV Charging Stations with 50 New Additions in First Half of 2026

Pilot Company announced that the number of its electric vehicle charging stations has reached 301, with 50 new sites added in the first half of this year across 25 U.S. states. The total number of charging stalls now approaches 1,300, further expanding its fast-charging network along interstate highways.

Pilot Charging Stations Surpass 300 Sites with 50 New Additions in First Half of 2026

Pilot Company announced that as of July 2026, the number of its electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging stations has reached 301, spanning 25 states across the United States, with nearly 1,300 individual charging stalls. In the first half of this year, Pilot added 50 new charging sites and completed modernization upgrades at 18 existing locations, further strengthening its charging network along interstate highways.

Pilot Company operates the largest travel center network in North America. Its charging stations are primarily located along major interstate corridors, offering 350-kilowatt (kW) high-power charging equipment. Each station is equipped with dual-cable chargers provided by EVgo, allowing a single vehicle to receive full power output or splitting the power when two vehicles charge simultaneously. Additionally, the stations support Plug-and-Charge functionality, enabling compatible vehicles to start charging automatically with a simple plug-in, streamlining the user experience.

Site Distribution and Service Upgrades

The 50 new charging sites added in the first half of 2026 are distributed across 25 U.S. states, including locations in Chicopee, Massachusetts, and Ponce de Leon, Florida. Meanwhile, Pilot completed modernization upgrades at 18 existing sites, covering 13 U.S. states and Canadian provinces. These stations not only provide high-power charging services but also offer amenities such as free Wi-Fi, dining, and grocery options to meet the diverse needs of long-distance travelers.

Sean Marrero, President of Retail at Pilot, stated, "We are committed to creating an environment where customers want to return and employees enjoy serving. Whether it’s charging, refueling, or dining, we aim to make every mile more valuable."

Partnerships Drive Expansion of Charging Network

In 2022, Pilot partnered with GM Energy, the energy division of General Motors (GM), and charging service provider EVgo to install up to 2,000 fast-charging stalls at up to 500 Pilot and Flying J travel centers across the United States. The first batch of stations came online by the end of 2023, and by March 2025, the network had expanded to over 130 sites. As of July 2026, the number of Pilot charging stations has reached 301, demonstrating significant progress in the partnership initiative.

Pilot’s expansion of its charging network not only enhances the convenience of EV use but also reflects the urgent market demand for charging infrastructure. As EV adoption continues to rise, competition in charging station deployment has intensified. Retail giant Walmart has already deployed over 600 charging stalls across the U.S., further advancing the widespread adoption of charging networks.

With high-power charging, convenience, and comprehensive amenities, Pilot’s travel center charging stations have become a key choice for EV drivers on long-distance trips. As the number of stations continues to grow, Pilot will further solidify its leading position in North America’s charging network.
