Strong H1 2026 Operational Performance

Hongde Energy reported consolidated revenue of NT$3.078 billion for the first half of 2026, with operating gross profit of NT$758 million, a gross margin of 24.63%, and operating income of NT$112 million. While revenue recognition for some 2MW energy storage projects in Japan during the second quarter was deferred to the third quarter due to adjustments in transaction terms, earnings from Japanese energy storage assets have begun to materialize. A 2MW energy storage project in Japan’s Chubu region, operational since mid-July, has accumulated revenue exceeding 15 million yen, with an average daily revenue of approximately 700,000 yen.

Hongde Energy stated that the earnings from its Japanese energy storage projects validate the commercial viability of participating in the power market. The company plans to continue expanding its presence in the region. Beyond energy storage facilities, the group has partnered with major Japanese energy companies such as Tokyo Gas and Chubu Electric Power Miraiz to develop ancillary services, including energy storage operations and power insurance, further diversifying its revenue streams.

Japanese Energy Storage Deployment Achieves New Milestones

Hongde Energy’s energy storage deployments in Japan continue to advance. The Helios energy storage project in Hokkaido completed Japan’s first green project bond financing based on system-wide energy storage assets, providing a new funding model for future project development. This year, the company secured its third consecutive win in Japan’s Long-Term Decarbonized Power Source Auction (LTDA), accumulating a total capacity of 560MW and solidifying its leading position in the local energy storage market.

As Japanese energy storage projects gradually come online, power trading and energy storage operation services will become key growth areas for Hongde Energy’s overseas business. The company emphasized that the revenue performance of the 2MW project in Japan’s Chubu region not only demonstrates the market value of energy storage assets but also lays the foundation for larger-scale project development in the future.

Diversified Expansion in the Australian Market

Hongde Energy’s expansion in Australia is progressing simultaneously. The Dartmoor energy storage project successfully secured a long-duration energy storage tender from the South Australian government, further penetrating the local capacity market. Additionally, the group acquired a 30% equity stake in local Australian green steel and green fuel companies through investments, extending its business scope from renewable energy and energy storage to green industrial and renewable fuel sectors, achieving vertical integration across the industry chain.

Hongde Energy noted that as investments in AI and data centers continue to grow, large power consumers are increasingly demanding stable electricity, low-carbon energy, and energy management solutions. The group will combine its renewable energy and energy storage assets with the green power supply, power trading, and energy management capabilities of Star Power to target large power consumers such as data centers, offering integrated energy solutions.

Smart Energy Equipment Targets International Markets

In the smart energy equipment sector, Hongde Energy’s TAITEN brand has begun planning international certifications, aiming to target overseas markets and high-specification applications such as data centers. TAITEN’s expansion will further enhance the group’s industrial chain, covering energy assets, power services, and smart energy equipment, thereby improving overall market competitiveness.

Hongde Energy stated that it will continue to focus on Taiwan, Japan, and Australia in the second half of the year while actively expanding its overseas energy storage and green energy services. Through diversified deployments, the group aims to address global energy transition trends and meet market demand for stable, low-carbon energy.
