Ford Extends Free Home Charger Offer for Mustang Mach-E Buyers Through 2026

Ford has prolonged its Power Promise program, offering a free home charger or $2,000 discount exclusively to retail buyers of the 2025 or 2026 Mustang Mach-E, as the F-150 Lightning’s discontinuation narrows eligibility.

Ford has extended its Power Promise program, limiting eligibility to retail buyers of the 2025 and 2026 Mustang Mach-E models after discontinuing the F-150 Lightning and depleting its inventory nationwide. The program, which provides a free Level 2 home charger with standard installation or a $2,000 price reduction, will now run through July 31, 2026, for the 2025 model and September 30, 2026, for the 2026 model.

Eligibility and Installation Terms

Under the extended program, customers purchasing or leasing a new 2025 Mustang Mach-E must complete their transaction by July 31, 2026, to qualify for the free charger or discount. Buyers of the 2026 model have until September 30, 2026. Ford covers standard installation costs, including up to 60-amp circuits, 80 feet of wiring, and connections to the meter, but excludes expenses for underground line digging or panel upgrades. Installations are managed by third-party provider Qmerit.

The program originally included Ford’s Charge Station Pro as the standard charger, but the company now states that the brand and type of charger may vary based on availability. The Mustang Mach-E’s 11-kilowatt AC charging input ensures compatibility with any 48-amp home charger, making the specific model less critical for functionality. Retail customers can opt for a $2,000 price reduction instead of the free charger, with no trade-in required.

Exclusions and Customer Benefits

Ford’s offer is restricted to retail buyers, excluding fleet and commercial customers. The company positions the program as a way to reduce charging anxiety, emphasizing the convenience of overnight home charging. According to Ford, home charging is typically more affordable than public alternatives, and solar panel integration can enable free daytime charging for some customers.

The 2026 Mustang Mach-E introduces minor updates, including grab handles on rear doors and a now-optional front trunk, which costs an additional $495. Ford has not disclosed specific pricing changes for the 2026 model year, but the program’s extension aligns with its broader strategy to support EV adoption through infrastructure incentives.
