EVgo to Deploy Hundreds of Branded Tesla V4 Superchargers Across the US

US charging operator EVgo has partnered with Tesla to deploy hundreds of branded V4 Supercharger stations across US cities, with the first sites expected to open in the second half of 2026. The stations will support both NACS and CCS vehicles and integrate with Tesla’s in-vehicle navigation system.

Partnership Details and Deployment Timeline

US public charging operator EVgo has announced plans to deploy hundreds of branded Tesla V4 Supercharger stations across cities in the United States. Construction is expected to begin in the fall of 2026, with the first sites slated to open in the second half of the year. These charging stations will utilize Tesla’s latest V4 Supercharger hardware but will retain EVgo’s branding and integrate with EVgo’s existing charging network.

EVgo CEO Badar Khan stated that this collaboration will make it easier for electric vehicle (EV) drivers to find convenient fast-charging stations while providing more infrastructure options for communities. He emphasized that EVgo is accelerating the expansion of its charging network through this partnership to meet the rapidly growing demand in the EV market.

Charging Station Specifications and Vehicle Compatibility

The new EVgo Supercharger stations will feature up to 20 charging stalls per location, strategically placed in high-traffic areas such as shopping centers and restaurants. The stations will be equipped with Tesla’s Magic Dock adapter, enabling support for both NACS (Tesla’s North American Charging Standard) and CCS-equipped vehicles without the need for additional adapters. This means Tesla owners, non-Tesla models that have adopted NACS, and EVs still using CCS can all use these charging stations directly.

Tesla’s V4 Supercharger hardware can deliver up to 500 kW of power and supports vehicle architectures ranging from 400 to 1,000 volts. Depending on the vehicle model, it can add up to approximately 200 miles of range in just 15 minutes. Additionally, the V4 chargers come with extended cables, offering greater flexibility to accommodate different vehicle charging port locations and enhancing user convenience.

Integration with Tesla’s In-Vehicle Navigation and Market Demand

Under the agreement between EVgo and Tesla, these EVgo-branded Supercharger stations will appear in Tesla’s in-vehicle navigation system, and Tesla’s Trip Planner will include them as routing options. This integration will significantly boost EVgo’s visibility among Tesla owners, as there are already millions of Tesla EVs on US roads.

EVgo reported that as of July 31, it had 240 NACS connectors operational in the US. With automakers accelerating the adoption of the NACS standard, EVgo expects over 35 NACS-equipped EV models to be available in the US by the end of 2026. EVgo also noted that demand across its charging network has surged by over 700% over the past three years, reflecting the growing need for public fast-charging infrastructure.

In-House Technology Development and Future Expansion Plans

In addition to its collaboration with Tesla, EVgo is developing its own next-generation charging system at its Innovation Lab in El Segundo, California. The first units of this system are expected to be installed by the end of 2026 and will operate alongside Tesla’s V4 Superchargers, further expanding EVgo’s charging network. EVgo emphasized that this deployment is just one part of its broader plan to enhance charging infrastructure, with ongoing efforts to increase station density and charging power.

While EVgo has not yet disclosed specific cities for deployment, it stated that priority will be given to regions with high EV demand and insufficient charging infrastructure. As the EV market continues to grow rapidly, competition in the public charging sector is intensifying. EVgo’s partnership with Tesla is seen as a strategic move to capture market share. The new charging stations will provide EV drivers with more diverse charging options and promote the widespread adoption of charging infrastructure.
