Integrated Three Core Testing Functions to Streamline Charging Station Operation and Maintenance

German testing equipment manufacturer comemso electronics introduced the Easy Chester Ultimate mobile testing system on August 11, combining functional testing, charging communication analysis, and electrical safety verification for EV charging stations into a single device. Weighing 15.7 kilograms and equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, the system is designed for on-site tasks such as charging station commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and periodic inspections.

The Easy Chester Ultimate, depending on its configuration, can test both AC and DC charging stations, covering charging standards including AC Type 1, Type 2, CCS Combo 1, Combo 2, NACS (SAE J3400), and CHAdeMO. The system is structured into three testing levels: functional operation, charging communication, and electrical safety, enabling users to quickly identify whether faults originate from electrical installation, charging communication, protection functions, or abnormal charging behavior.

Supports Multiple International Standards for Precise Charging Communication Analysis

In charging communication testing, the Easy Chester Ultimate can examine Control Pilot (CP) and Proximity Pilot (PP) signals while analyzing PLC communication, including SLAC. The system supports international standards such as DIN 70121, ISO 15118-2, and ISO 15118-3, simulating CP, PP, and protective earth (PE) circuit faults to verify the charging station’s response to insulation failures.

Electrical safety testing covers both the grid side and vehicle interface, measuring protective conductor resistance, insulation resistance, residual voltage, residual current devices, insulation monitoring, and loop impedance. The system supports communication protocols including IEC 61851-1, ensuring test results comply with international safety regulations.

Four-Step Operation Process with Automated Report Generation

The Easy Chester Ultimate simplifies the testing process into four steps: connecting the charging station and power grid, selecting the charging standard and test items, performing safety and functional checks, and analyzing deviations while recording results. The system automatically generates customizable PDF reports and allows users to send them via email, enhancing on-site operational efficiency.

The system features built-in wireless firmware updates and self-diagnostic functions, with optional remote support available. To meet long-duration testing requirements, comemso offers the Long Duration Unit expansion module, enabling extended charging cycles and time-dependent fault analysis, as well as support for external DC loads to test higher charging power over prolonged periods.

Applicable to Multiple Scenarios to Enhance Operation and Maintenance Efficiency

comemso states that the Easy Chester Ultimate is suitable for various applications, including the commissioning of new charging stations, functional checks after maintenance or repairs, diagnosis of charging and communication issues, verification of electrical protection functions, and periodic inspections. By integrating multiple testing functions, the system effectively reduces troubleshooting time and improves the efficiency and accuracy of EV charging infrastructure operation and maintenance.
