First-Half Profit Surges 91% as EPC Revenue Share Rises to 83%

Century Energy Equipment held an investor briefing on August 13, announcing its rebranding from Century Wind Power and reporting first-half consolidated revenue of NT$8.846 billion, a 63% year-on-year increase. After-tax net profit reached NT$1.692 billion, up 91% from the same period last year, with earnings per share (EPS) of NT$9.3, both setting new records for the period. The company attributed the significant profit growth to the rising share of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects for underwater foundations, which accounted for 83% of first-half revenue. The company aims to increase this share to 90% within three years.

To enhance cost competitiveness, Century Energy Equipment completed a share-swap merger with Century Huaxin, expecting to reduce post-merger production costs by 20% through higher self-sufficiency, joint procurement, and operational leverage. The company emphasized that the merger will help expand production capacity and strengthen competitiveness in overseas markets.

Targets SMR Supply Chain, Aims for TÜV Rheinland Certification Within Three Years

Century Energy Equipment announced plans to enter the small modular reactor (SMR) supply chain, initially focusing on peripheral reactor equipment with the goal of obtaining TÜV Rheinland technical and safety certification within three years. The company noted that global electricity demand is growing rapidly due to AI applications, positioning SMRs as an emerging energy solution with increasing market potential. According to the company’s assessment, mainstream SMR models are expected to enter commercial operation after 2029, making the current period critical for supply chain development and certification preparation.

Century Energy Equipment stated that it will actively seek international partnerships to become a supplier of SMR equipment. The company has begun technical evaluations and certification preparations, planning to collaborate with international energy firms to develop SMR-related equipment in the future.

Plans AIDC Development in Taoyuan Guanyin Industrial Zone, Land Located Just 5 Kilometers from Datan Power Plant

Century Group acquired 83,000 ping (approximately 27.4 hectares) of land in the Taoyuan Guanyin Industrial Zone in January this year, with Century Energy Equipment allocated around 41,000 ping (approximately 13.5 hectares). The company is currently evaluating a partnership to establish an AI data center (AIDC) on the site and plans to develop diverse energy projects, including rooftop photovoltaics, natural gas storage tanks, and hydrogen energy equipment. The land is located just 5 kilometers from the Datan Power Plant, which the company believes provides a power supply advantage, potentially overcoming the current electricity usage limit of over 5 MW.

Century Energy Equipment noted that AI data centers have substantial electricity demands. The company plans to leverage its existing energy equipment manufacturing capabilities to explore collaborations with international technology firms to develop high-efficiency data centers. Additionally, the company intends to build green energy facilities on the land to further enhance energy efficiency.

Eyes 30 GW Opportunity in Overseas Markets, Aims for 10% Revenue Share Within Five Years

According to estimates from the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), the Asia-Pacific region (excluding China) is expected to add 40 GW of offshore wind capacity between 2026 and 2035. Excluding Taiwan’s projected 10 GW, overseas markets present a 30 GW opportunity. Century Energy Equipment stated that it will target markets such as South Korea, Japan, and Vietnam, collaborating with international developers to expand its overseas presence. The company aims to increase the share of overseas offshore wind and new energy equipment revenue to over 10% within five years.

The company’s current order visibility extends to 2029, with the Haisheng project already in delivery, the Haiguang project expected to begin early-stage engineering in the second half of this year, and the Fengmiao Phase I project entering its final stages. Century Energy Equipment is optimistic about its revenue performance for this year and next, expecting to challenge historical highs while anticipating overall profitability to surpass last year’s levels.
